AIA and Sovereign inspired over 55,000 primary and intermediate school children to get active and healthy in a fun way with New Zealand’s Healthiest Schools Challenge.
Over 55,000 children from over 500 primary and intermediate schools across New Zealand participated in the challenge running in term 4, 2018.
The challenge is a six week programme taking children on a fun virtual journey around the world, measuring their steps and activity along the way.
Children are motivated to complete their journey by sporting legends Gemma McCaw and Cory Jane.
The challenge is not just limited to children. Teachers, parents and guardians also supported their children by taking part in the challenge. Every class or supporter registered gave their chosen school a chance to win a share of $50,000 worth of sports grants for their school.
Previously the challenge successfully ran as AIA Healthy Kids Challenge in 2016.
