The policy owner will be notified annually in their anniversary letter of the impacts that any AIA Vitality Discount has had on the insurance premiums.
Policy anniversary letters are generated 6 weeks prior to a Policy Anniversary date and display the AIA Vitality Status captured in our system at that time.
If your AIA Vitality Status changes between your Policy Anniversary letter being sent and your Policy Anniversary date, your AIA Vitality Discount will be corrected. This either happens one day before or 16 days after, your Policy Anniversary date. Any changes will be back dated, and an email confirmation will be sent.
The AIA Vitality programme operates on membership years (we call this your AIA Vitality Year). Your first membership year will commence on the day you become a member and end one year after that date. Whereas your Policy Anniversary generally means the anniversary of the commencement date of your eligible policy to which your AIA Vitality membership attaches. These can be different.
If you are in your first 10 months of AIA Vitality Year at a Policy Anniversary, your premium discount for the next year will not flex to your detriment. If you reach Platinum status your discount will increase by 2% to 12%. If your status is Bronze, Silver or Gold, you will retain your 10% discount.
If you are in your first 11-12 months of AIA Vitality Year at a Policy Anniversary your AIA Vitality Status for your current membership year (we call this your Earned Status) will be used to adjust the flex in your premium discount in accordance with the table shown above.
For all subsequent AIA Vitality Years, the premium discount that applied at your previous Policy Anniversary (we call this your Baseline Discount), will be adjusted according to your Anniversary Status (your AIA Vitality Status as at the last day of your previous AIA Vitality Year), as at 2 weeks after your Policy Anniversary.
Should your AIA Vitality membership be cancelled or terminated in accordance with the AIA Vitality Terms and Conditions, any AIA Vitality Discount (including the initial discount) applied to your eligible policies will be removed from your next Premium due date.
