At AIA Vitality, we believe in helping you gradually increase your physical activity to boost your health. That's why our Active Rewards targets start at 200 Physical Activity Points and gradually increase to 500 points each week.
These targets are designed to guide you towards improving your physical activity, one step at a time.
The maximum of 500 Physical Activity Points aligns with the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) advice for staying healthy through physical activity. WHO recommends at least 150-300 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity per week, or 75-150 minutes of vigorous intensity aerobic activity per week.
For Active Rewards, you need to sync your data by the following Saturday evening (midnight) so your points are counted. For example, if the week ran from Monday 1st March to Sunday 7th March, you need to sync your data for that week by Saturday 13th March to earn your weekly Active Rewards.
Remember you can earn a maximum of 150 points in one category per day. If you do more than one fitness activity in a day, you'll earn points based on the highest scoring activity.
Connect your Apple Watch, Fitbit, Garmin, Samsung Health, Google Fit, or Strava app to your AIA Vitality membership. Once linked, you're all set to track your activity and start earning those points!
Once you have successfully linked your compatible device or health app you are ready to start tracking activity. You can earn a maximum of 150 points in one category, per day. If you complete two or more fitness activities in one day, the highest points earning activity will be awarded.

View frequently asked questions about AIA Vitality physical points
Make sure to open the AIA Vitality app and your fitness device app at least once a week when you're active. This will help sync your data and track your points accurately. This is the only way to trigger the syncing of physical activity data with your AIA Vitality membership.
There may be a slight delay for the Physical Activity Points to reflect, but they should be there within a 48-hour period.
No. Currently the following devices and apps are compatible with AIA Vitality - Fitbit, Garmin, Apple Health, Google Fit, Samsung Health and Strava.
When using your compatible health app, the data needs to originate in the app. We do not accept data that originates on a third-party app or device, that links through to your compatible app. Examples of third party include XiaoMi, Huawei or Mi Watch devices.
Once you have synced your data and reached your weekly target , you have 30 days to redeem your Active Rewards within the AIA Vitality app. After this 30-day period your Active Rewards voucher will expire. We cannot reallocate a voucher unless you can provide proof of an error that prevented you from redeeming the voucher.
If you are travelling abroad, there are various countries known for malicious traffic used to attack online platforms, where you will not be able to access your AIA Vitality app. Please continue to track your physical activity data during this time, and when you return to New Zealand, you will need to sync your data to your AIA Vitality membership. AIA Vitality will process 30 days of data for Fitbit and Garmin devices, and 14 days of data from Strava, Apple Health, Samsung Health and Google Fit.
You can earn up to 3,000 Physical Activity Points for an organised fitness event. Organised Fitness Event Ppoints contribute to member’s 15,000 Physical Activity Points per membership year, but do not contribute towards member’s weekly Active Rewards target.For weekly Active Rewards, members must track physical activity via a compatible fitness device or app, or visit a gym partner.
