Nau mai ki AIA Healthiest Schools Aotearoa!
The AIA Healthiest Schools NZ programme is all about helping primary school teachers give kids the tools they need to look after their physical and mental wellbeing. We’ve teamed up with the Young & Healthy Charitable Trust, and together we’re on a mission to support Kiwi kids to live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives. Primary schools across Aotearoa are invited to jump on board - it’s a great way to get students inspired, feeling good, and building healthy habits that will stick with them for life.
The programme provides teachers with free, curriculum-aligned resources designed to inspire students Year 1- 6 to adopt healthier habits in four key areas:
The classroom lessons are supported by teacher guides, ‘bitesize’ fun activities, worksheets, posters, and videos from AIA Vitality Ambassadors.
We are proud to have partnered with Young & Healthy Charitable Trust. Young & Healthy work with schools throughout NZ using an interactive digital platform to engage children and help them develop intrinsic motivation to maintain a healthy active lifestyle, which not only protects their physical health - but it can also reshape mental health trajectories for future generations.
As a programme sponsor, we believe the Young & Healthy partnership, together with the AIA Healthiest Schools programme, will help Kiwi kids live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives by engaging, inspiring and educating our tamariki.
Enter your school in our AIA Healthiest School competition, and you could be in to win a share of $80,000 in prizes! The best part is any NZ primary school can enter.
Our competition challenges teachers and students to work together to improve the health of the school community and share their ideas, plans and results. The most creative, engaging, and impactful ideas will win some great prizes and may even be showcased on our website to inspire schools around the world!
There are three big prizes up for grabs - $40,000, $20,000, and $10,000, with five Highly Commended prizes of $2,000 also available. Winning schools can use their prize money to bring a health and wellbeing initiative to life, whether it’s a special experience for students or new resources like sports equipment.
The AIA Healthiest Schools Programme is active in schools across New Zealand, Australia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Mainland China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. Winners from each country are then entered into a regional competition where they have the opportunity to be selected as the overall primary school winner, with further prizes awarded.
