Life Insurance
Provides a lump sum payment if you were to pass away or are diagnosed with a terminal illness.
What is trauma insurance and why do you need it?
Unfortunately, experiencing a trauma such as serious illness or injury at least once in your life is more common than you might think. New Zealanders are increasingly surviving illnesses that previously have been terminal. Trauma insurance is designed to pay you a lump sum to manage the financial impact if you or one of your children were to face serious illness or injury.
Financial hardship can be experienced as a result of a serious illness or injury to ourselves or a family member. AIA trauma insurance can provide financial support to cover whatever you need, like taking care of medical treatment and rehabilitation costs, or simply allowing you and your family to focus on recovery instead of worrying about work.
AIA offers two types of trauma insurance: Critical Conditions that provides a lump sum payment for a range of defined medical conditions, and Progressive Care which allows you to make multiple claims based on the type and severity of your illness or injury.
You can also add AIA Vitality, our science-backed health and wellbeing programme that rewards your healthy choices via premium discounts and partner rewards. AIA Vitality can be added to your trauma insurance for $11.50 per month. T&Cs apply
Plus, eligible trauma insurance policies also have the added benefit of earning Airpoints Dollars™ for premiums paid.
