Get an Apple Watch and pay less when you move more

AIA Vitality have partnered with Financed by Glow to enable the Apple Watch Benefit. Glow is AIA Vitality’s chosen third party loan provider, offering a twenty-four (24) month, interest free loan product to the value of NZD $749 in order for AIA Vitality Member’s to purchase an Apple Watch Series 11 (GPS) Aluminium 42-mm with an Apple Store Gift Card code.

Glow Financial Services (New Zealand) Limited, NZBN 9429053084422, trading as Financed by Glow, is the creditor in this arrangement and a registered financial service provider under FSP1010763 authorised to provide consumer credit.

The loan application is available to complete within the AIA Vitality app for eligible AIA Vitality members who have agreed to AIA Vitality’s Apple Watch Benefit Terms and Conditions. As an AIA Vitality member, you will need to provide certain data directly to Glow to determine your credit eligibility. See Glow FAQs for specific information required for application.

If you meet Glow’s eligibility criteria for loan approval, you will need to:

• enter into a loan Agreement directly with Glow,
• provide Glow with bank account information to set up a direct debit facility for any loan repayments, and
• pay an initial deposit to Glow of $125 as the first upfront payment toward the total loan amount of $749.

As part of your loan with Glow, you will need to pay a non-refundable deposit of $125 to Glow as the first upfront payment towards of the total loan amount of $749. This payment is made by you, is not refundable, and is not eligible for AWB Rewards.

As a creditor, Glow must assess your eligibility for this loan application, including completing a comprehensive credit check. Please refer to Glow’s FAQ page for more information about the loan process including credit rating queries.

The loan is interest free. Please check Glow’s FAQ page for more information. However, late payment fees may apply if your monthly loan repayment is not paid on time.

Yes, at any time you may contact Glow and repay the outstanding balance in full settlement of the loan. Please refer to Glow FAQs for more information on the loan agreement. If you choose to settle your loan early, you will not be eligible to apply for another AWB with AIA Vitality until the 24-month period since your previous AWB has passed. You will however be entitled to receive Active Rewards again. 

Your loan repayment date is the 20th of each month, or the following business day. If you have a payment owing, Glow will send you a notification 3 days before you are direct debited from the bank account you provide Glow for any outstanding repayment.

To apply for a loan with Glow you must provide a physical New Zealand driver’s licence or a valid passport.

The weekly physical activity target (Target) for your Apple Watch Benefit runs from Monday to Sunday, and physical activity that’s tracked during this time will contribute to achieving your weekly Target. Each week you achieve your Target you will earn an Apple Watch Benefit Reward. The Apple Watch Benefit Reward is then applied as a co-contribution to your loan with the Apple Watch Benefit loan provider; reducing some, or all of, the loan repayment you owe that month.

You have six days after the end of that week for your activity data to sync with the AIA Vitality app to accurately reflect your activity. Be sure to open both your Apple Health app and the AIA Vitality app regularly to ensure that your activity data is syncing (we recommend twice a week minimum). 

Your AIA Vitality points may not be reflected right away, but as long as you have captured your points on your synced device within your Target week and we receive the data before midnight on the following Saturday, your activities will count towards your Target and your Apple Watch Benefit Rewards.

Your weekly Target for the Apple Watch Benefit is dynamic – it will adjust up and down based on your activity level and Target completion. This is to keep you motivated and engaged at the current level, actively encourage you to reach the next level, or recalibrate at a lower level should that be more appropriate for your fitness ability. Your Target will never move more than +/- 50 points in a single week, and range between a minimum of 200 points and a maximum of 500 points each week.

There may be a slight delay for the physical activity points to reflect, but they should be there within a 48-hour period.

No. After your Apple Watch Benefit is activated, your Active Rewards switch to Apple Watch Benefit Rewards, which co-contributes to your loan repayments with the Apple Watch Benefit loan provider. With this change, you will no longer be eligible to select any of the standard $5 Active Rewards vouchers or donations for the next 24 months (or until the loan has been fully settled). If the loan is settled prior to the end of the 24 months, you will again be eligible for Active Rewards.

Head to the “Accounts” section in your AIA Vitality app and then select “Connected apps and devices” to connect to your new Apple Watch.

We encourage you to open your app on a weekly basis to ensure your activity is syncing and your efforts are being counted towards your weekly Target and your Apple Watch Benefit Rewards.

It is your responsibility to repay your loan with Glow. If you do not meet all of your weekly Targets and earn all available Apple Watch Benefit Rewards, you are responsible for paying either the partial or full loan repayment amount for that month. You will not earn Apple Watch Benefit Rewards if you miss your weekly Target. If some, or all, weekly Targets are missed in a month no Apple Watch Benefit Rewards will be contributed to your loan by AIA Vitality, and that portion of loan repayment will be deducted from your bank account by direct debit, as agreed with Glow.

Please refer to the table above as an illustration of repayments and the potential co-contribution by AIA Vitality towards your loan when you achieve your Target and earn Apple Watch Benefit Rewards. You should check the AIA Vitality App and your loan balance on the Glow portal regularly for an accurate reflection of the co-contribution.
