    AIA Vitality Fee Increase - 2 July 2026

    Overview

    From 2 July 2026, the AIA Vitality Membership Fee will increase for all retail AIA Vitality Memberships from $11.50 to $13.50 per month. For existing members, the fee increase will be effective from the commencement of your next Membership Year, after 2 July 2026 (payable based on the billing frequency you have selected (monthly, half-yearly, or annual).

    This is the first fee increase to the AIA Vitality Programme since its launch over six years ago. It reflects the increase in operating and servicing costs over that time, as well as AIA’s ongoing investment in the AIA Vitality programme to maintain and enhance the benefits, rewards and tools, that support AIA Vitality members to live Healthier, Longer, Better, Lives.

    Why is the AIA Vitality Membership Fee increasing?

    We’ve worked hard to keep the fee unchanged since the AIA Vitality Programme launched in New Zealand in 2019. The fee increase reflects higher operating and servicing costs since launch and allows us to continue investing in the programme, maintaining current benefits and rewards, improving tools, and continuing to introduce new features and partner offers over time.


    Why am I paying more if the AIA Vitality Programme benefits and rewards aren’t changing?

    The AIA Vitality Programme offers a range of benefits to members such as vouchers, discounts, cashbacks, rewards and other products and services provided by AIA or our AIA Vitality partners from time to time. This is the first fee increase since the AIA Vitality Programme launched in 2019, and ensures the programme remains sustainable and continues to deliver value through ongoing improvements, new partnerships, and enhancements.


    What do I get for my AIA Vitality membership?

    AIA Vitality is a science-backed health and wellbeing programme that supports you to improve your health through personalised insights, tools, benefits and rewards. You may also be eligible for a premium discount on eligible insurance products with your AIA Vitality Membership, that will increase, decrease or stay the same annually based on your AIA Vitality Status. You earn partner benefits and rewards by taking steps to improve your health and wellbeing. You can view the full list of benefits here.


    What if I don’t use the AIA Vitality Programme benefits and rewards very often?

    AIA Vitality is designed to offer value in a variety of ways, with a wide range of benefits available across all pillars of health and wellbeing - from rewards and discounts through to tools that support you to improve your overall wellbeing.

    Members who engage regularly tend to get the most value, including potential savings on eligible insurance through their AIA Vitality Status. Even small actions can add up over time, so it’s worth exploring what’s available in the app. If you feel it’s not right for you, you can choose to cancel your membership at any time.     Will this AIA Vitality Membership Fee increase affect my insurance premiums or AIA Vitality discounts?

    No. Your insurance premiums and any AIA Vitality discount is not affected by the AIA Vitality Membership Fee increase.


    Membership Cancellations and Refunds

    Can I cancel my AIA Vitality Membership because of the fee increase?

    Yes. You can cancel your membership at any time by contacting us:

    Email: NZVitality@aia.com from your registered AIA Vitality email address

    Please note: If your AIA Vitality Membership is cancelled, you will no longer be entitled to use your AIA Vitality Membership number or access the AIA Vitality Programme, the AIA Vitality App and all AIA Vitality Programme benefits (including any AIA Vitality discounts in respect of your eligible insurance policy) will cease.


    Will I receive a refund if I cancel my AIA Vitality Membership?

    Refunds are subject to the AIA Vitality Terms and Conditions. Please refer to section 9.3 What happens on termination in the terms and conditions for full details on eligibility and how refunds are handled.

    Do I need to take any action?

    No action is required. The updated fee will automatically apply to new Members from 2 July 2026, and at your next Membership Year renewal after 2 July 2026 for existing Members.

    When will the new AIA Vitality Membership Fee apply to me?

    1. Existing members: The new fee applies at your next Membership Year renewal after 2 July 2026.

    2. New members (joining from 2 July 2026): The new fee applies immediately.


    What is my Membership Year?

    Your Membership Year starts from the date you joined AIA Vitality and renews annually. You can check your renewal date in your AIA Vitality app.


    What happens if I have a pending AIA Vitality membership?

    Your fee depends on when your Membership was issued:

    1. If you are a new AIA customer and submit your AIA Vitality application together with your insurance application, both your insurance policy and AIA Vitality membership must be issued before 2 July 2026 and you will pay the $11.50 monthly AIA Vitality Membership fee for your first Membership Year, after which the fee will increase to the then current rate.

    2. If your insurance policy and AIA Vitality membership are issued on or after 2 July 2026, you will pay a $13.50 monthly AIA Vitality Membership fee upon commencement.

    3. If you are an existing AIA customer and submit an AIA Vitality application prior to 2 July 2026, your AIA Vitality membership must be issued before 2 July 2026 for you to pay the $11.50 monthly Membership Fee for your first Membership Year, after which the fee will increase to the then current rate.

    How will the new AIA Vitality Membership Fee be charged?

    You will continue to be billed in the same way you are today. The updated fee will apply in your first billing cycle after your Membership Year renewal.


    What will my new payment amount be?

    Your payment will change to the updated fee at the commencement of your next Membership Year after 2 July 2026 based on your billing frequency (monthly, half-yearly, or annual):

    • $13.50 per month (previously $11.50) for members who pay monthly.

     

    • $81 every six months for members on a half-yearly billing cycle (previously $69)
    • $162 per year for members on an annual billing cycle (previously $138)

    Do I need to do anything if I pay by direct debit?

    No. Your direct debit will automatically update to the new amount.


    What happens if my membership fee payment fails?

    If you miss a payment for your Membership fee, we’ll get in touch by email (up to three times) to let you know your payment has been missed and advise when we’ll try to process the payment again. If your membership fees remain unpaid, your AIA Vitality membership may be cancelled in line with the AIA Vitality Terms and Conditions.

    I have a free AIA Vitality Membership. Does this new fee affect me?

    No, if you do not currently pay a Membership Fee for your AIA Vitality Membership then this Fee increase will not apply to you.

    Depending on the AIA Vitality Membership category to which you belong, we may have agreed (at our discretion) with your employer to have them pay the cost of your AIA Vitality Membership, or to waive the Membership Fee. This Fee increase will not affect those membership categories.


    I have AIA Vitality Starter. Does this new fee impact me?

    If you have AIA Vitality Starter as part of your AIA Starter Plan:

    • Your membership is already included in your insurance premium

     

    • You don’t pay a separate fee
     
    • There is no change to your current premium due to this increase
