When AIA NZ launched the NZ Adviser Wellbeing Research earlier this year, it extended its Best Doctors service offering to advisers in need. To ensure they are receiving the best experience possible, the insurer has now set up ‘AIA MyCare’, a new portal in partnership with Best Doctors.
“AIA MyCare is a virtual care service that provides you and your immediate family with the appropriate expert care when you need it the most,” says Sam Tremethick, AIA NZ’s Chief Partnership Officer. “It is available should any of our advisers or corporate partners be unsure about a diagnosis, need assistance in selecting treatment or help with an existing condition, require mental health support, or have any general medical questions.”
AIA MyCare includes all of the features previously available through the Best Doctors portal, but is linked via the relationship with AIA to offer a better user experience.
One of the standout features of AIA MyCare is the ‘Ask a Mental Health Clinician’ service where mental health questions can be submitted confidentially, and a mental health specialist will respond with general mental health advice and guidance within 24 hours. There is also the option to ‘Ask a GP’ where users can submit basic medical questions online via AIA MyCare, and a NZ-based GP will provide an answer in writing within 24 hours.
Another popular feature is ‘Mental Health Navigator’, offering quick virtual access to a network of multidisciplinary NZ registered and licensed expert clinicians, without the need for a in person consult. Assessment is completed via video consultations with a mental health nurse, and an expert psychiatrist and/or psychologist who will review and often modify the diagnosis and treatment plans, ensuring patients can make informed decisions backed by expert opinion.
“If you have previously registered under the Best Doctors portal, you’ll know first-hand how invaluable this service can be,” says Tremethick. “We ask that you re-register now under AIA MyCare (www.aiamycare-teladoc.com) to ensure a more personalised service going forward. It should take less than 5 minutes to sign up or re-register, and will mean you can continue to receive this expert medical care and support.”
