AIA NZ is pleased to announce the appointment of Dame Paula Rebstock as an Independent Non-Executive Director to the AIA NZ Board.
Dame Paula joins the AIA NZ Board in February 2022 and is a leading Auckland-based economist and company director, who was made a Dame Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2015 for services to the State. Rebstock holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the London School of Economics.
Dame Paula has extensive professional experience in corporate and public services governance, including current positions as Chair of Asia Pacific Healthcare Group, Kiwi Group Holdings, and Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Whai Māia; as Deputy Chair of Vector, and as a Director of Sealink New Zealand.
She is also a former Chair of the New Zealand Commerce Commission, and the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC); was a Deputy Chair of KiwiRail, and a Director of Auckland Transport.
AIA NZ Chair Theresa Gattung says of the appointment “We are delighted to have someone of Dame Paula’s calibre join the AIA NZ Board. Her impressive breadth of experience at some of New Zealand’s most significant organisations will be of great value to AIA NZ and to our leadership team.”
Sharron Botica, AIA NZ Acting CEO, also welcomed Dame Paula’s appointment, “as New Zealand’s largest life insurer, having a strong, experienced, and diverse Board to steer and lead the way is of critical importance as we pursue our dream for NZ to be one of the healthiest and best protected nations in the world. To have Dame Paula on our Board providing her insight and strategic leadership to help achieve our dream is a great honour.”
