AIA NZ is pleased to announce the appointment of Katie Hunter to the role of AIA Vitality Coach.
“AIA Vitality is a science-backed programme that is the foundation of our approach to health and wellbeing at AIA NZ,” says Sharron Botica, AIA NZ Chief Partnership Distribution Officer.
“Our dream is to champion New Zealand to be one of the healthiest and best protected nations in the world – and AIA Vitality helps Kiwis understand the current state of their health, remove barriers to better health, and incentivises them to stay motivated to improve their health through exercise, nutrition and health screenings.
“For us, this is about transforming the role that we play in our customers’ lives and in society, from simply being a payer of claims, to a partner in their ongoing health and wellbeing.
“As a functional nutritionist and passionate wellbeing advocate, we’re incredibly pleased to welcome Katie, whose skillset makes her uniquely qualified to help our team support financial advisers and their clients to live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives and bring us closer to making our dream a reality,” says Sharron.
Katie’s background has its foundations in the health and wellness sector, with a Bachelor of Physical Education, and a Post-graduate Diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine. She has spent many years working as a personal trainer, and as a gym manager, leading high performing teams, and supporting and nurturing clients on their wellness journey.
“I am passionate about empowering people to live a life with energy, wellness and confidence. AIA Vitality is a gamechanger for the insurance industry, and I’m excited to get stuck in and help lead the charge with our adviser network and support them and their clients to make positive lifestyle changes one step at a time,” says Katie.
In recognition of the importance of the role, AIA NZ is now recruiting for an additional AIA Vitality Coach to join Katie in driving awareness and understanding of the value of the programme.
Since launching in 2019, AIA Vitality members have taken enough steps to run nearly 500,000 marathons, with a whopping 23.7 billion steps counted.
AIA Vitality members have performed more than 33,000 AIA Vitality Health Checks, with 19% of these members reducing their BMI as a result, 50% improving their blood pressure, and 16% reducing their cholesterol. They’ve also completed more than 10,000 eye exams, 4,000 dental assessments, and 800 nutrition assessments.
