Launches new Heart Rate and Light Activity AIA Vitality points
AIA NZ is pleased to announce its partnership with Jetts Fitness, adding 50+ new 24/7 gym locations for AIA Vitality members to choose from, in a major expansion of its gym network.
“We’re excited to welcome Jetts Fitness to our group of AIA Vitality partners,” says Ralph Holmes, AIA NZ Head of Vitality.
“At AIA NZ, our purpose is to help New Zealanders live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives so there is fantastic alignment with Jetts. This partnership will help make fitness more accessible and provide greater flexibility to our members, both in terms of geographical footprint and through our fantastic member discount offer.”
AIA Vitality members can access a 20% discount on Jetts’ All Club 12-month membership and will earn 100 AIA Vitality Points per visit (max. 100 points per day).
Jetts Fitness Executive General Manager, George Reed, says Jetts is thrilled to be partnering with AIA NZ.
“We’re committed to creating a community and a culture in which we deliver an outstanding experience every time people walk into the gym, so they can take steps to a healthier life and thrive every day.”
“We understand first-hand the positive impact exercise has not only on our physical health, but on our mental health and confidence too. We want everyone to reap the abundance of amazing rewards that come from regular exercise, and now that includes AIA Vitality points too.”
New Heart Rate and Light Activity AIA Vitality points
The partnership comes as AIA NZ launches new ways for members to earn AIA Vitality Physical Activity points, expanding the accessibility and breadth of point earning opportunities.
AIA Vitality members will now be able to earn 25 points for achieving 5,000-7,499 steps throughout the day and up to 150 points per day for vigorous exercise.
“We want to encourage more people to get active and achieve their weekly Active Rewards target,” says Ralph.
“Research shows that shorter bursts of more frequent activity can be just as effective for our health and wellbeing as doing longer training. The introduction of 25 points for 5,000-7,499 steps reflects our focus on ensuring AIA Vitality is inclusive and encourages people to get moving. At the other end of the scale, we want to reward people who are doing more vigorous exercise with additional points in recognition of the increased health benefits.
“So whether you’re building your fitness levels or recovering from an injury, and want a more achievable target, or time-poor and need to make the most of shorter more vigorous workouts, we think there’s something for everyone with these enhancements.”
“We’re also updating the daily points cap to 150 points, up to 15,000 points per year. However, the maximum weekly Active Rewards target will not exceed 500 points, as this aligns with the level of physical activity advised by the World Health Organisation to maintain or improve your physical health,” concludes Ralph.
Previously AIA Vitality members have been able to earn 50 or 100 Physical Activity points per day.
