AIA NZ achieves Advanced GenderTick Status for the second year in a row

AIA NZ has proudly achieved Advanced GenderTick™ status for the second consecutive year.

Since becoming the first insurer in Aotearoa New Zealand to be awarded the GenderTick in 2020, AIA NZ has continued in its dedication to gender equity and inclusion, reaffirming its commitment to supporting a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Developed in 2018, the GenderTick certification enables businesses to demonstrate their compliance and leadership across five key indicators: Equal Pay, Leadership Representation, Flexible Work & Leave, Gender Safe Workplace, and a Gender Inclusive Culture. Achieving Advanced GenderTick Status reflects AIA NZ’s progress in each of these areas, with highlights including a comprehensive Menopause Toolkit and dedicated policy in support of gender affirmation.

“To be recognised with the Advanced GenderTick is a testament to our commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive workplace where our people can bring their whole and unique selves to work,” says Brynlea Hunter-Morpeth, AIA NZ Chief People Officer. “I’m proud of our ongoing mahi in this space, which helps make New Zealand a better place to work for everyone.”

Gender at Work Manager, Elizabeth Maddison, praised AIA NZ’s leadership, noting: “We proudly congratulate AIA NZ for being reaccredited with the Advanced GenderTick. AIA NZ continues to be a courageous leader and champion for gender equity, being the first insurer to earn the GenderTick and openly sharing their journey towards creating a menopause-inclusive workplace. We commend their steadfast commitment to fairness and transparency, from rigorous efforts to review and close gender pay gaps to best practices designed to minimise bias in recruitment.
