What are the benefits?
An AIA Vitality Fitness Assessment helps you understand your health and provides a pathway to improve your cardiovascular fitness and functional mobility.
It is important to have good Cardiovascular fitness, as it is strongly linked to positive overall health and wellbeing. Cardio fitness plays a key role in reducing the probability of chronic conditions such as cardiovascular disease, various cancers, type 2 diabetes, fatty liver disease, chronic kidney disease, hypertension, stoke, common infections (e.g., cold, flu, pneumonia), dementia, and depressions1,3,4,5,6. By enhancing your cardiovascular fitness through targeted improvements in heart rate recovery and oxygen utilization, you can significantly lower your risk of these serious health issues.
Another important key to good health and wellbeing is ensuring you have good functional mobility, which reduces the risk of injury and improves functional movement. Functional mobility includes flexibility, stability, posture, and strength, all of which contribute to better physical performance and daily activities. Poor muscular strength is the second strongest predictor of all-cause mortality2.
